Blogger Summit 2008
June 27-30 2008, Chicago, Illinois
Thank you for expressing interest in Blogger Summit 2008. We are very excited for this event and hope you are too! Some information you should know:
• The Blogger Summit will be held June 27-June 30. Official activities will begin with a welcome gathering Friday evening, and end with a closing gathering on Sunday afternoon. There will be some optional activities Monday for those wishing to stay an extra day.
• Expect a number of activity options. These could include visits to museums and other area attractions, sporting events, shopping, dining, bars/clubs, general socializing and more. Please tell us what you’d like to see in the appropriate area of the registration form.
• We welcome bloggers of all ages and backgrounds. You do not have to update frequently or blog about a certain topic to attend, but you should blog in some fashion.
• We are requesting a contribution of $30 per blogger to help secure group rates to attractions and defer costs of putting on the event.
• Each blogger will be responsible for his own travel and lodging expenses.
How to sign up?
Email blogger.summit@gmail.com. We will send you a registration form to be completed and returned to blogger.summit@gmail.com.

Answering a Few Questions...
Thanks to everyone we've heard from so far! It seems like there is a lot of interest, which is great! A lot of you have asked us questions, so here are answers for everyone's benefit.
What are the dates of Blogger Meet Up 08?
We will set a date after the initial period for expressing interest has ended. (Feb 29--see post below) If there are weekends in June/July that do or don't work for you, please tell us.
We will have everyone "sign up" once a date is set so we know who's coming.
What is your "target audience?"
We welcome bloggers of all ages and backgrounds. The more the merrier!
What kinds of activities are planned?
We will seek your input as to what you would like to see. Expect a number of options, from high energy to low key. These could include visits to museums and other area attractions, sporting events, shopping, dining, bars/clubs, general socializing and more.
Can I bring a partner/significant other or friend?
Absolutely! Again, the more the merrier.

Blogger Meet Up to Be Planned!!
We “gay bloggers” are an interesting group. Whether we’re semi-closeted or out and proud, from sunny California or the chillier regions of Canada, we are all connected. Whether we have been blogging three months or three years, we all seem to be part of a community. Look at any of our blogrolls and it becomes apparent there are far fewer than “six degrees of separation” at work.
Have you ever wanted to meet your blog buddies but wondered if it would ever be possible? Have you dreamed of getting people together but didn’t know how to go about it? We have too, and we have an answer!
Blogger Meet Up 2008!
We propose a gathering of bloggers to be held this summer in Chicago. It would be a chance for many of us to get together, hang out, and have fun in a casual atmosphere. We are thinking of about a 3-day get together, over a weekend in June or July.
